  • ⅓ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1¾ cups whole wheat pastry flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup coconut sugar
  • ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (for topping)
  • ½ cup organic cane sugar (for topping)
  • ½ tablespoon cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix whole wheat pastry flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and sea salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together apple cider, unsweetened applesauce, coconut sugar, Greek yogurt, melted coconut oil, and egg until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. Spray two donut pans with cooking spray and fill each cavity with batter.
  6. Bake for 6-8 minutes or until donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Let cool slightly before coating in melted coconut oil and dipping in cinnamon sugar.
