  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg (for pumpkin layer)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (170°C).
  2. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter and dark chocolate together. Stir in sugar until smooth, then whisk in eggs one at a time.
  4. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt; fold into the chocolate mixture gently.
  5. Spread half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
  6. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, spices, and cornstarch until smooth.
  7. Pour the pumpkin mixture over the brownie layer and drop spoonfuls of remaining batter on top; swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Bake for about 50 minutes or until set in the center; let cool before lifting out.
