Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In a smaller bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Combine with dry ingredients to form a thick batter.
  4. Pour the batter into an 8-inch casserole dish and spread evenly.
  5. In another bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and chopped pecans; sprinkle over the batter.
  6. Carefully pour very hot water over the top without stirring.
  7. Bake for approximately 40 minutes or until set in the center. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving.
