  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Sea salt for topping
  • Additional caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mash the ripe bananas and mix in white sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla extract, and caramel syrup until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients using a hand mixer until smooth.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan and drizzle with two tablespoons of caramel sauce. Swirl gently using a butter knife.
  6. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow cooling for about 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Sprinkle sea salt over the top and drizzle with more caramel sauce before slicing.
