  • 2 packs udon noodles
  • Chinese cabbage (or any leafy green)
  • 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 white onion, sliced
  • 200 g fresh beef, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by whisking together garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and cornstarch slurry in a mixing bowl. Coat the sliced beef and let it marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Cook udon noodles in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until slightly loosened. Drain and set aside.
  3. Mix the remaining marinade with dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, black pepper, water, and potato starch to make the black pepper sauce.
  4. In a preheated wok, sauté garlic and onions until softened. Add the marinated beef and cook until browned.
  5. Pour in the black pepper sauce mixture; stir over low heat until thickened. Add cooked udon noodles and cabbage; toss gently to combine.
